About Me

Hello to you

Welcome to this blog that details my path towards financial freedom and my thoughts on my stock choices.

I'm 26 years old (single!) and had graduated from NUS with a Chemical Engineering in 2016. I was a management associate at a local transportation company and later moved into the investment industry.

I started investing since 2011, having picked up my first investment book during army days. Till date, I have not met a true financial crisis like the 2008 Great Financial Crisis or dot-com bubble in the early 2000s. For my investment origin story, click here.

Unlike many other bloggers who actively tries to teach the public the know-hows in investment and personal finance, this blog of mine mainly distills my investment thoughts to be shared with others and as an archive for myself. Reasons being, I do not really have much time as before to research and also because I am sure there are better financial bloggers out there who do a better job introducing the best brokers, credit cards and savings accounts account.

My current goal is to hit a total net worth (including CPF) of 100K before 30 years old. My passive income is incremental on per-year basis and my target is to hit $1,100 in 2017.

I had started tracking my XIRR since I started investing. Unfortunately, I had lost some earlier data when I lost my laptop during exchange and below are my returns, best to my knowledge.

2011 - 2014: 9.25% annually
2015: -10.41%
2016: -2.22%

I am a humble, average Singaporean caving out a retirement plan for the future and I think you should too. A parting word, never place your money entirely in another person's hand. Know what is your money doing and make it work hard for you. There are tons of investing resources out there and there is no excuse to be ignorant.

All the best!
